bali
just dragged myself back to singapore from bali, and my face is peeling due to the immense sunburns i garnered while surfing. or at least trying to surf. it looks super fun and cool and easy, but its hell. haha. just dragging your board against the waves out to sea causes you to almost drown everytime and i think i swallowed enough salt to last me a year already. the water went through my nose so much that i fell sick with fever, and according to my dad i have some kind of water infection in the nose. lol. that causes me to spit balls of green goop. haha. but i must say that when you finally stand on the board or get it right, the timing and the heaving yourself up to stand although you already ache like mad all over, is quite rewarding. of course i cant do tricks and flips, but yeah. i achieved quite a good beginner's level. bali's beaches are gorgeous, and just travelling an hour or so will get you to the highest volcanoes and mountain scenic spots. which really are breathtaking. but a spoiler was that all the people will keep bugging you to buy their wares while you are soaking up the view. i had to give them my evil glare and say a very loud and curt NO before they inched away reluctantly. shopping wise, it was okay. not fantastic. and the thai massages are way better than balinese ones. but really bali is beautiful. even their hotels are one of a kind. we sneaked into hard rock cafe's hotel and it was, spectacular. the pool was sprawling and it had a mini beach inside with sand and pavilions that had private curtains on stilts above the pool, so people could you know what. haha. but seriously romantic. and yeah.. i want my honeymoon in bali. lol so. back to my hectic schedule of tuition, work and lessons.... sigh...
